This is what we came up with.
"Mom! It doesn't look like the picture! I thought it was going to look just like the picture! Why doesn't it look like the picture?"
"Well, honey, Martha doesn't have a two year old, and a four year old helping her, so really..ours is much better."
"And she doesn't have a Jack?"
"No, she doesn't even have a Jack" I say as I look down at my baby desperately trying to suck on my big toe.
After many more glances at the magazine, and a long stare at the cake, he comes up with this
" Yeah! Martha makes sloppy cakes, just like us, but ours is better!"
"Yes, love, she does and yes, ours is better. "
Ahem.
After having a piece of cake, I got Madge out and started on a new Amy Butler pattern. It's the nappy bag, and I am in love with it! It has lots of room, great pockets on the inside, and even a nice changing pad!
This one is for a friend, but I was so in love with the pattern, I had to make one for myself. It's like a diaper bag in disguise , because it looks like a sassy purse.
I have some oil cloth that would be great for this bag, and it is what I should have used, seeing that it is water proof, pee proof, poop proof, juice proof, spit up proof, but I choose something else.
Brown ultra suede and another Amy Butler print. I tied the handle in a knot, and added a vintage pin. Now tomorrow I will be able to fill it with the diapers, wipes, snacks, juice cups, extra clothes, aspirin...this baby has a lot of room, and I must say, it is the sexiest diaper bag I have ever seen.
