Ruffles, old and new

I am so into the ruffle thing lately. I found some peasant skirts in my closet today. They were on their way to good will, but I had a better thought. I lived in these after I had Anna. She was born in June on a 53 degree day and the day after I gave birth, it was a zillion degrees....for the rest of the summer. These skirts saved me. Since I was not quite ready for daisy dukes, these skirts were very forgiving to the postpartum hip, butt, thigh, stomach area. Ahem.

Anyway, I decided that it would be fun to recycle them into something for Anna. My first thought was a skirt, but really, how cute are the pants?

And, another ruffle skirt in my favorite freshcut fabric. She wore this to the library today and she was the star of the singing circle! I am just not sure if it was the skirt, or the way she likes to sit right in the middle, steal everyone else's shakers, and collect all the books to give them back to the librarian.

Yeah, I am thinking it was the skirt.
