Cleanse

Yesterday we took down the tree, and all the Christmas decorations. As a child, I hated doing this, and as an adult, I try to make it seem peaceful, and right, but it never does.
Addison asked me why we had to do it, and I tried to explain to him, that the Christmas time was over and it was time to welcome in the New Year. So much to look forward to, and so much to be thankful for.
I love to clean the whole house after we take the tree down. I mean really scrub and start fresh.

So that is what we did, and everyone helped....

Clean bathrooms and windows, freshly washed slipcovers, and the faint smell of pine still floating through the house.

It feels good to do this. To start fresh, welcome the new year, and all it will have to offer. This year, and every year, we are handed so many gifts. It is up to us to decide if we want to take them.

Okay 2008, we are ready for you...
