My elfling

I started this project the other night, and had no idea how quick it would be. After seeing that Erin was going to make some for her girls (after she saw it on Kristin's blog) I wanted to give it a try. I emailed her and asked what she thought about a beginner trying this, and she said to go for it, but did mention it ran really small. The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles, but I had this bulky weight, merino wool that I wanted to use, so I used that with size 10 needles and it ended up fitting her perfectly.

Rachel helped me a lot with the hood. I was picking up the stitches from the neckline, but I was not knitting them, which is what you are supposed to do. I was trying to knit a row after I picked them up....

So, I do love this and I sure I will be making more of these.

I hope you had a great, realxing holiday...

we sure did.

Oh my goodness! I have always picked up all of my stiches and then knit them! I'm completely self taught, so I know I have a lot to learn. Thanks for adding that! And it looks amazing!
