Special delivery

Happy Friday everyone! Leslie, you are the winner of the give away! Thank you everyone for all of your sweet comments. This is just too much fun for me.
I got my treats out of the freezer today to put together my first delivery of the season. I am getting my hair cut later, and I always bring a big batch of cookies into the salon.

I am really into the Christmas season. This year, I got it bad! I have always loved Christmas. Christmas music in October, guilty. Decorating before Thanksgiving, guilty. Christmas shopping in June, guilty. However, sometimes I really struggle with getting into the spirit of things. You know what I mean, right? That deep inner feeling of not just excitement and anticipation, but that gentle feeling of peace ,that I think is going come, but never does.
This has been the first Christmas, in a long time that I feel peaceful.
I decided this year that most gifts would be handmade, that I would only do what I found pleasure in, not what I thought I should do.
I think stopping by to visit someone, giving them a hug and saying Merry Christmas can mean more than something your threw in your shopping cart, because you thought you had to.
Isn't that what it is about? Slowing down to visit with loved ones? Stopping by to look at your neighbors tree? Leaving cookies for the mailman, and making Christmas cards with the kids?
So, I want to know...
Are you in the Holiday spirit this year? I hope so.

Now all of this looks too delicious. Cute knitted hats as well. The kids are adorable in them.

Happy holidays!

Hi Beautiful! As per usual, you brought tears to my eyes. Yes, you have always been my "Christmas Kid".

I somehow just found your blog (I think I googled "gumdrop pillows") and notice you live nearby (Midcoast Maine?). You make great stuff!

ooh all those cookies look so good!

I love your thoughts on the handmade gifts. I really enjoy thinking about the gifts I make (although finding time to do it is another thing )

Now I think I need to go make some cookie ;)

cookies and gifts and anything are just accessories
we some time trapped by those, and found difficulties to feel the spirit...
but anyway, special day wont be special without any of it, right?
I want to taste those cookies...

your baked goods look so yummy!

and yes, I would totally have to agree that stopping by and telling someone merry christmas and giving them a hug is much better than chucking something in your shopping cart. :)
