Home improvement mini: part one

First, I want to say thank you all so much for all of your comments from my last post. It is nice to know I am not alone in the head spinning department. It does make me feel better to know that I am not alone here. That is one of the reasons I love blogging so, so much. The connections I have made with other blogging sisters and all the inspiration make me fell so thankful that we all take the time to do this. So, thank you for taking the time to check in with me and commenting, I love it that you do.

Have I ever mentioned that I love monograms? Well, I do.

I got this one from ebay. It is an iron on, that you can even put through the wash. Gotta love that.

For my birthday my sister, Shannon bought my some beautiful vintage pillow cases and a matching sheet. They are pristine! The pillow cases are for king size pillows, and we were going to go pick some up so I could use my new pillow cases, but the figured the two pillows next to each other would be too big for our queen size bed. So they turned into curtains for the kids bathroom.

These were so, so easy to make. I did not do any cutting here at all. I measured them to the length I wanted, and then added a half inch for the top ruffle, and sewed two straight lines. One for the top ruffle, and another for the casing, where curtain rod goes. There is extra fabric hanging down the back, which is great because if I ever decide to use them as pillow cases again, all I have to do is rip the seam out, and there you go.
So, I just happen to notice I have used all of my vintage pillow cases for this project, and this project! Yikes! Looks like I need some more!

Beautiful! And I love how you make it sound so easy! We have an awsome flea market here. I am going to check out vintage linens next time I go - you have inspired me...again.

I love monograms too! I have to agree with what you said about the blog world. I have found such support knowing that their are others women who are mothers, wives and friends who think and experience a lot of similar things as me. Somehow it makes life better when people relate. It's so amazing.

I wasn't aware of iron-on monograms! I hope they are for sale more places than ebay - now you'll have me scouting!
