Okay, anyway, I got the boys Easter outfits done.
I was inspired by these overalls, so I altered my Jackie Clark overall pattern, just a bit. I squared off the straps, and I made the leg a lot wider than the pattern does.
I made Addison a pair of wide leg, cropped pants, with an over sized pocket in the back. I know he will like these. He is into surfing lately, although he has never gone. He keeps asking me for a surf board (maybe when he is 18) and I thought these looked kind of like surfer pants.
I usually just do an elastic waist for all the pants that I make, but I wanted to try something different. I used two grommets, and a drawstring instead. For the pants and overalls, I used red and white striped seersucker. For the shirts I got red shirting fabric. I purchased both at Joanne's for a few bucks a yard.
I will be working on the dresses and bonnets for Anna and my niece this weekend. Hopefully I will have something to show you soon!

wow! I'm impressed. I'm trying to get this sweater done for Isaiah for Easter, but I'm not sure it's going to happen.
I agree with Jamie, I can't wait to see them on!
HOW ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!
So cute... and I'm really enjoying your blog! I found you through Java Mama and your whoopie pie recipe.
your sewing is awesome - I cannot wait to see them on the kids. Great idea,
Kris
cute, cute! I love to use snaps, too. I was afraid of them until I used them on my baby bibs and they are easy peasy. your outfits turned out beautifully!
I once had a friend who compared gray hair on a woman to stars coming out in the night sky. It's really hard to hate it when it's put that way, no?
Adorable, adorable outfits. Please tell me you're posting modeled shots! I really wish I had the patience for sewing. You'd think I would, since I have the patience for knitting, but I am just so BAD at sewing.
Very cute! My sister has been looking for a boy overall pattern for a while. Thanks for the info.
Love these! I really like your use of grommets instead of elastic. I am going to try that in my son's next pair. Thanks for the inspiration!
I can't wait to see your kids easter pictures! They are going to look adorable in these cute outfits!
SNAPS! Why didn't I think of that before? I've honestly not tried to make tops for my kids because I don't like to do the buttons.
I've used snaps on other thing. DUH- I'm a little slow sometimes. Thanks!
Absoulutely perfect Katie! So adorable, perfect for Easter!
I love them. I like the snap instead of button idea a lot! And the drawstring is perfect!

If its of any consolation, when I was pregnant in 2004 (and was barely 30), I found nine hairs, in the same spot...plucked them all, and as far as I can tell, they've not come back--alone, or with "friends". LOL
Those are very cute outfits for your little ones!
Those outfits are so cute! Can't wait to see the kids in them.

what amazing easter outfits! this reminds me of growing up, when my mom used to sew my easter outfits too! (my brother was into mud, so he got store bought ones!). i made my mom sew matching outfits for my cabbage patch doll too so she and i matched. i am sure your kids will remember these outfits with the same fondness!
These Easter outfits are the best.
