We like old stuff

I have a pen pal from Alabama who loves old things, just as much as I do. I "met" her when I was pregnant with Jack and I was looking for some old pictures to put on his wall. I came across her ebay store, and found lots of stuff I loved.
I sent her an email saying if I won any auctions, but did not pay right away to hold tight, because I was just about to go into labor with my third child. She sent me back a really nice email, and we have kept in touch ever since that day.
She has made me a lot of nice stuff, so when she sent me some vintage fabric, and asked if I could make her a diaper bag (she is expecting her first any day) I was so happy to do it.
I love, love this vintage fabric she sent. I used Amy Butler's Nappy Bag pattern. This is a super fast bag to make because you cut the whole front and back out in two pieces. The fabric she sent me is bark cloth, I think. It was so nice and thick, that I decided not to use the canvas interfacing. I also made her a changing mat, and added a front flap, with a snap.
This really inspired me. I think I want to find some vintage fabric and make one for myself. This doesn't have to be just a Nappy bag. I think it would make a great knitting bag too. It is big, but not too big and has nice roomy pockets.

This is just one of the things I have purchased from Gwen. I love these frames made out of old wood. Check out her ebay shop! You won't be disappointed!

I love your bag & changing pad. I have that pattern by Amy Butler and I make bags all the time but the way she writes her patterns make them look very complicated. Great job, though.

Love the bag and mat to match.
Love the blue frame!
I will have to stop by her store, I am re-doing my daughters bathroom and bedroom. Waiting for a little bit more of warmer weather to get out and paint some furniture.
