Let's take this outside, shall we?

There is still snow in our yard as far as thee eye can see! In fact, the front mountain just melted enough so I can sit on the steps and knit while the kids build snow forts around me.
I do love all the seasons, and when it is fall, that is my favorite season, and when it first snows, well, winter is my favorite, of course. You get the picture.
I do love Maine, I will always live here, but the winters are a bit long. As soon as summer hits we pretty much live outside.
However, since spring has not sprung here yet, why not get some more inside things done?

This week I finally found two chandeliers for the living room. I have been looking for these for almost a year now. I had so much trouble because I wanted something petite. Frank is 6' 2", and fought me on this for a long time. I guess banging your head on a chandelier every time you walk under it is annoying or something. Ahem.
Every time I found one I loved, it was just too long, so when I found 14" chandeliers I was elated.
They were silver, so I primed them, and painted them ivory. It is really easy to do this if you remove all the crystals etc. and just go for it outside with the spray paint. If you already have one hanging and you don't want to take it down, you can just take a small brush and do it that way too.

Frank also built some doors for the living roon cabinet to cover up the T.V. when we are not watching it. It makes me very happy to have it out of sight.

So for now I will enjoy the new lighting, and covered television, while dreaming of planting, digging, picking berries, and sunflowers. I can't wait to read the kids bedtime stories with the humming of the fan in the background. I love the sound of bare feet on the deck, and all that this new season will bring.

Yes, spring is my favorite time of year.

The chandeliers are lovely Katie.
Your home should be in a cottage/vintage magazine!

My order arrived today! Thank you, the earrings and necklace are even more beautiful in person! I love it!

I love the ivory pallette you have used in your living room - it looks so restful and serene. The chandeliers really finish off the room. We are getting our first taste of autumn weather here - I woke up this morning to the sound of rain on the roof. I am looking forward to some cooler weather which will be more conducive to quilting and knitting.

Oooh gorgeous! I love that peaceful palate! My husband is 6'2" and is the same way. I wanted a chandelier in the bathroom but he swears he'll have to remember to duck all the time.

I have an award for you on my blog so come by when you get a chance and grab it.

I have been reading your blog for a while now and just love it. Your world just seems so magical! Your home and family seem so serene and beautiful. Your blog is my fantasy escape! I live on the other side of the world, so can only imagine how beautiful it is in Maine. Snow, well, I have seen it once it my life! It is Autumn here down under and I am dreading the winter because I don't like the cold, but it would be nothing compared to your winters. Spring in September is my favourite time of the year as I feel like a butterfly emerging from it's cocoon, new life as I thaw out. Please keep up the good work, it is so inspirational. I really hope that one day I can visit your part of the world! Sorry I have to comment as anonymous, but wasn't sure how to leave a comment in any of the other forms.
