Pillows and purses

The pillows on our sofa have had a good life. They have built lots of forts, served as padding for tiny bottoms to land on, and have been slid across the floor about a zillion times with little knees staring them in the face.
I decided this weekend I would put them out of their misery and make some new ones. I wanted to try some different shapes, so I made some rectangle pillow forms, recycled the old stuffing and some of the old fabric.

This one has an old linen in the middle. If you have any old linens this is a great way to show them off. I just added some scrap fabric to either side to make them a bit bigger.

I also made a purse for a silent auction in our town. Freshcut fabric and a vintage pink button. Some of my favorite things!

How pretty - and I guess this will motivate me to get out the old linen embroidery I have - those are very pretty!

Beautiful pillows -- I love all of the whites and neutrals (big fan myself). You make me want to attempt a white sofa/pillows (dare I??) :)

I love the new pillows. But seriously. Are your kids like the best behaved kids ever? That sofa is so incredibly white. It wouldn't last a week in my house.

beautiful pillows. I love linen. I am finding buying it for smaller projects at the thrift store (as in linen pants or skirts) is much cheaper than the fabric shop :)
