Debbie Bliss Drop Collar Cabled Jacket

I completed the Debbie Bliss Drop Collar Jacket, and was happy to get some pictures before a rainy weekend hits us.
I am pleased with the results. I love my new jacket. It has not left me since I finished blocking it.

Despite the small frustration of running out of yarn, this was so much fun to knit. I took it slow, only worked on it while the babes were sleeping, and tried very hard to enjoy the seaming. This was my first big seaming project, and I am pretty happy with the results.
The yarn is so delicious. It knits up fast, and is so soft after blocking. I thought it might be a bit itchy, but feels like cotton on bare my skin.

The Details:
Pattern: Debbie Bliss Drop Collar Jacket from the Debbie Bliss Knitting Magazine Fall/Winter 08
Size: 36, I do think it runs a little big. If I had to do it over, I would do a size smaller.
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Donegal Chunky Tweed, color 112, 9 skeins.
The color I used has been discontinued, but it is still available. I am also smitten with the forest green! I ran out of yarn, so make sure you buy one extra skein.

Happy, happy Friday!

It looks fabulous! I love how it doesn't look very form-fitting - you could easily layer it over more clothes if needed. The color looks great on you too - great job!

Oh That is beautiful. I just love it. I love Anna's coat too. I have not been on the internet in awhile. Have you ever thought about selling any? I would buy a sweater.

How very FALL of you - love the orange.

And I'm way jealous that you have the patience for such detail - wow. I'd have stabbed myself in the eye with a needle by the second row of cabling.

Very nice! I am biased to like anything that is orange, actually, but I think this sweater/coat looks pretty fabulous!

I have just sent my husband to buy magazine (I am at work in the sticks) - I have picked it up 6 times, but that colour really makes it.
