My sister brought me some beautiful vintage, red and white hounds tooth fabric the other day, and I could not wait to cut right into it!
I had a few ideas in mind, then decided on a coat and beret for Anna.

I wanted something swingy, a bit Audrey Hepburn if you will, but I did not have a pattern for what I wanted. Being the anxious, compulsive, I mean, umm, passionate person that I am, I decided to wing it. I used a shirt pattern as a guide for the arm holes and the sleeves, but the rest was a bit of a risk.

For here beret, I used a pattern in Amy Butler's new book,
Little Stitches.
Finny send it to me, and I think I emailed her back and told her I was in love with her when I received it! It is a fabulous book, with lots of fun patterns for all skill levels.
It makes me very happy when I take a risk, and it works out, but even happier when the recipient loves what I have made.
