I couldn't wait

My Texturized Tweed Coat is done. I am so pleased with the results and I have a new favorite yarn.
I loved making this, but it was a challenge for me. Every time I knit something, I learn a new trick or two.

I have been trying to wait for a nice bright day to go out and get some pictures, but it has been almost a week since we have seen the sun.
These pictures will have to do.

I have been working on this for about three weeks. It is knit from the top down, but the sleeves are knit flat so those have to be sewn up.
I love the texturized seed stitch, and the Cascade Tweed yarn.

The Details:
Pattern: Texturized Tweed Coat from Stefanie Japel's Glam Knits
Yarn: Cascade Tweed 220,6 hanks
Size: 33
Alterations: I cut the collar short by about two inches, and did not add a button band on the front. I don't think I will ever wear this sweater buttoned up, but I can add it later if I change my mind.
If you have not treated yourself to this yarn, you must. I have sensitive skin, and it does not feel like wool at all. Love that!

Wow! That looks so amazing. Stephanie Japel is such a wonderful designer. I bought some Cascade 220 to make one too. I'm glad to hear it only took six skeins, because I only bought 7 instead of the 9 it called for! That was all my LYS had.

HOLY!

Look at that gorgeous coat. I mean, LOOK RIGHT AT IT. Amazing. Perfect.

And you say that tweed doesn't feel like wool?

Don't tease me, girlfriend.

I'm blown away. You're a rockstar. Such nice work.

I'm afraid to ask, but what's next?

If I saw that sweater coat in a Garnet Hill catalog, I'd be selling my firstborn off to make it mine!!!

Great job, as usual.

It's absolutely lovely and you model it well, as I knew you would! It's the perfect lenght, the perfect color, and I love the collar and sleeves. Subtle flair. Wear it and enjoy every minute.

Wow I love it! you always do such a nice job! and pick the best projects! thank you for your advise on my button holes it was what the pattern instructed but I just could not figure how to cast on in the middle of a knit but after looking at some books and on line I think I got it and hope to post soon! Wow, that is so cool! You are fast!! Glad to hear about the yarn as I'm fussy and can't stand anything with even a mild itch factor.

As an aside, thanks for trying to look at my first scarf! I am on vacation right now but promise that I'll get the photos put up when I get home.

Can't wait to see what you knit up next!

Love it, especially the sleeves!

Oh.. that is stunning!! I absolutely love the sleeve detail. And what a fantastic fit it is on you. I find being on the skinnier side means things that fit across the back often are too short. I might have to start knitting that now and have it ready for the winter here! Definitely not as quick as you!

That sweater is awesome! So much work/knitting. They way you start a project and stick to it is amazing to me. I love the pics and new profile photo with it. You must get compliments whenever you wear it and looks of astonishment when you say you made it yourself...that's the best!
