Ponchos for Peanuts

Little girls in Ponchos are so sweet, don't you think? I have a niece who will be one on Christmas day, and another niece who turned two a few months ago. For Christmas I wanted to make them each a cute little cape.

I have made four of these. I love the pattern so much. Quick, easy, and versatile. I left off the hood on both of them, and added a button closure on the red one. Of course I love these tags from Kniterella, that Denise sent to me. I am trying to tag things as I finish them.

The Details:
Pattern: Childrens poncho from Knitting Pure and Simple
Yarn: 100% cotton for both, about 300 yards for each poncho.
Size: 2T ( I do think the pattern runs a small, I suggest going up one size)
My Christmas knitting is almost done! Of course there is something on the needles for me right now. I think I will be done next week.

They're adorable and will look so sweet on the wee ones. And good for you, almost done with your Christmas. Leaves time to sit back, enjoy the moments.

As for what's on your needles now...WOW! Looks gorgeous. Can't wait to see it!

I love these! And I know who they are for, so I am able to envision the cuteness that will take over when they are received! I really love the red yarn you chose and I am simply. dying. to. see. your new item finished-I love the way offset buttons look-you are a master!

The ponchos are great - and will be much appreciated. My mom has made several for Jessie, which she still loves and wears! And the tags are wonderful - then you have no confusion later on.

They are so cute! And I LOVE the new one for you! My fingers are itching to have a go at something serious other than the scarf I've been fiddling with. And now you are giving me even more choice!

Agreed -- I don't know what is cuter than a little girl in a knit poncho! I really like how you added the button to the red one -- adorable!

Those ponchos are so adorable! Your color choices are wonderful. They'll remember those ponchos for many years after they can't wear them anymore.
