" You have a nice duvet that we just got a few years ago when you moved into your big bed."
" Well, I really want a quilt."
" If I were to make you a quilt, what colors would you want it to be?"
" Stripey. Blue, brown, and red."
" Would it be like a quilt?"
" Yes."
" Okay. Get making it, okay?"
" What do you say, Addison?"
" Please."

Oh how wonderful!! A quilt is a big hug wrapped in love. I'm looking forward to seeing Addison's new quilt. :)
how cute is that. How could you not make her a quilt especially after a please??

Aw, that is sweet. She'll love it. I love the colors! I love when my daughter asks me to make her something. It means she thinks it is pretty which is the best compliment ever!

I love that your kids ask you if you'll make them something rather than BUY them something.
And, of course, the requisite saying of, "please".
Cute. Looking forward to this fancy quilt!
I've had many of those conversations with my mom over the years and I've kept and cherished every one. I can't wait to see this 'pretty please' quilt!
Oh, I can't wait to see what you've made for his bed. The photo hints look great.
I like a young man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to...politely, yet firmly...ask for what he wants! And I know you'll love making his patchwork duvet cover in those fab fabrics.
I'll be back...for more!
It's so wonderful when kids still believe that you can do ANYthing. It looks like it will be a terrific quilt.
fantastic.
so sweet. Can't wait to see it.
so sweet. I can't wait to see it finished!
Oh, I'm so, so glad you stopped by and left a comment on my blog since it brought me here. I've been combing through your posts, loving what I see (that sweater you knit is gorgeous, this patchwork quilt story is so sweet), and I'll definitely be back. Thank you!
Oh how cute. My little guy asked me the same thing, only he already had a quilt on his bed I had made but one day he came to me with a very sad face and said mama how come the girls have two quilts and I only have one. WELL I knew where that was going. So he informed me he wanted a John Deere quilt with matching pillow thingy(aka pillow sham) and a matching valance. He was 3 1/2 at the time. I had to try not to laugh at how specific he was but I guess that's what you get when your mom's a quilter. He was very happy with the end result and I even surprised him with his name appliqued on a wall-hanging made out of the extra fabric. Good luck with your quilt and can't wait to see some more pics. Don't you just love when they ask us to make something for them it's just priceless.
He is such a doll-and could he have picked any better color combination!?! I know it will be gorgeous!
What a good mama you are! Doesn't it warm your heart when they ask for a quilt? You are so wonderful.
So cute. I can't wait to see the end result.
My son has PJ pants in the blue firetruck fabric you have posted on here. He loves them!

Very sweet. I love the dalmation fabric!
How could your ignore a request like that? So sweet!
Very cute so far!!! Can't wait to see the finale!
I cannot WAIT to see the end result! I am so inspired by your talent...truly! I can't do even half of it myself, but that's OK! I will just live vicariously through blogs like yours, until I can. And someday I will... :)
Thank you for sharing your love of crafting, cooking and children with the World. It's so remarkably inspirational. :)
Ha, this is adorable. I can't wait to see that beautiful quilt. Great colours, Addison!
It's so cute. I can't wait to see the next installment.
Oh, that's SO sweet! Don't you just love when they make requests? I love the "please" at the end!
ooh, love the colors! can't wait to see it!
Sooo sweet! Can't wait till my little one asks me to make him something. Awww...
I love it when my kids ask me to make something for them - I know they'll love it to pieces. I am particularly happy they don't have the 'my mom made it, it must be gross' attitude that some kids seem to have.
I love the colors so far - I look forward to seeing the finished product!
I love "Get making it"
