So, since I have been
quilting I have not made one for us. When I got the fabric for my
tunic, I bought an extra yard because I knew I had lots of black, white, and green scraps to go with it, and it would make a great quilt.

I started with 20, 5" by 5" squares and made ten scrappy log cabins, measuring 16" by 16". Then I took the last ten squares and framed them in white. I have so many white scraps!

I did a scrappy back too, and used my favorite color green for the binding.

Yesterday we had a big storm, and we were under this quilt all day.
My next project is going to be
another quilt for us. I can not wait to get started on it.

This is so pretty! I love how the green stands out against the black and the white. Glad you have caught the quilting bug!!! Can't wait to see what you make next...

Oooh - I love it, too! Love it!
What a great picture of the kids under the quilt! I never made quilts for our family until last year. Then I made one for fall (lots of browns/orange), a Christmas quilt, and Amy Butler's brick quilt with lots of Heather Bailey fabric for spring/summer. Now I'm so very glad I did. Keep quilting for your family!
Once again a lovely blanket and I smiled when I saw your kids having such a great time!
and that everyone can get under it! love that.
What a beautiful quilt - I love the colours! Doesn't it just come alive when the kids are under it!
I LOVE the backing on that quilt:
Very Denyse Schmidt...
