She wanted a pillow and gave me some color choices and sent along some pictures of her apartment. I knew what I wanted to make for her right away. I have been wanting to try some of these pieced pillows from Last-Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts. It was such a fun project and I am pleased with the result.
I also got a little package from Tracy. It is her month for Twelve Square, our virtual quilting bee. She sent great fabric. The theme was gray, with pops of color and texture. I added the green "grass" and did some pleats. This project was a little out of my comfort zone, but it was so fun to dive right in. I got the idea for making trees and grass right after I got the fabric. I am so into gray right now.
Now, if I can just get myself to the post office!

love them both! i have been meaning to make some pillows... maybe i need to get that book!
the quilt square is to die for... can you imagine a whole quilt made out of varying colors of your square - it would be cool but i guess time consuming!
May the kids be better soon and may you get some good sewing time, too! :-) Happy St. Pat's!
PS - I have that same patchwork book on my shelf right now. I was delighted that my library had it!
Those are great -- I have that book but had forgotten that pillow was in it... might have to drag that out again, as I'm looking to spring-up my sofa.
And your block. Well. That is perfect. Well done!
That block is fabulous! I love the gray and the pops of color. You did a great job! I also love the pillow. Whenever I make a pillow it turns out looking homemade. Yours looks professional. Any tips?
Very pretty pillows! I hope your kids get well soon.
I love those pillows, I love Susan, I love that block!! So much goodness, Katie :) I have on a pair of earrings from Susan right now, she's my favorite.
How cool! They are both beautiful, and I'm sure the recipients will be thrilled. And a virtual quilting bee -- what a neat idea!
I love the block - do you swap often?
both susan and tracy will adore those!
Hope your babes are all feeling better soon.
Lovely sewing projects! 3 hours to sew without being disturbed is a good thing. :)
