Yoke

I never did show you Addison's Christmas sweater, did I? I blogged about Anna's here, and Jack's here, but somehow forgot to show you this one.

Addison is a vest man. I asked him a few times if he would like a sweater, or a vest, and vest was always his answer.

I love this on him. He will wear it at home, but not at school. I have laid it out for him about ten times, only to find it shoved back in his drawer. I finally asked him why he only wears it at home.

"It doesn't look very good on me."

Um, he is five.

The details:

Pattern: Yoke, by Sublime Knits Organic Cotton collection

Size: Smallest

Yarn: Lion cotton, 2 balls.

Mods: I did add a knit two, purl two rib at the bottom. It was a little too curly, even after blocking.

I would love to knit him another, but apparently I should not waste my time.

Cute answer from a 5 year old, right? It's wonderful on him - hopefully soon he decides that he really is handsome in it!

When I was five Grammie made me a bunny vest for Easter complete with bunny googlie eyes and fluffy tails. I wore it all the time at home, but pulled an Addison when it was laid out for school. However, Addison looks darling in that vest and I link it looks great on him!

I love that vest on him! He looks so grown up in it. Mine did not want to wear anything knitted at all so I stopped knitting, after a while he start to ask to knit him a jacket and a sweater and is very proud to wear it knowing that I made it for him. My advice is not stop knitting for him and let him ask you for something. Vest is absolutely lovely I think it is just perfect for him!

Well, I don't care what he says -- I think it looks great on him!

I am going to use that new phrase "to pull an Addison"-that is so cute. I am sure that the sweater is just too special and cool for regular school days, that is the situation! Chris and I were trying to figure out which antique place you are looking for, and Elmer's Barn in Cooper's Mills, ME is the only place we came up with...Chris remembers that they had lace there for sale by the pound, about 8 years ago was the last time we went there...It is by Augusta-could that be the place?!?

I think it's very fetching!

Ha! Well, I think he is definitely mistaken but a boy is entitled to his opinion I suppose. I love it though.

Crazy kid. It DOES look good! I love kids. Mine are the same way. What they see at cool is so different. LOL.

I love the vest on him but hey a 5 year old knows what he likes to wear (wait until he's older, it gets worse).

i have one that is fussy like that so i always get him to choose the yarn or fabric, it certainly improves my success rate.

What a handsome dude! I think the sweater looks fabulous on him. It's hard to convince a 5 year old, I know. I'm sure my 10 year old son won't want a knit sweater until he's 20.

Bless him - isn't he gorgeous! I guess we all know what we like on ourselves - even at 5. I think it's adorable on him of course!!

I guess that's what makes 5 year olds so fun - they have their own opinions, and express them! I think Addison looks very handsome in his vest!

I can't believe him! He is so your son.

So, so cute. I my heart is melting that he doesn't think he looks good in it but he loves to wear it at home. I am amazed at how much kids love to get handmade-by-mama items. My kids have a million stuffed animals but they were all over the moon when I crocheted them a little blue bird. Makes all the work so worth it!

The vest is adorable. I'd love to get inside that little five-year old head and figure out what he thinks doesn't look good about it on him. Wow - to have such a sense of personal style at that age!
