Have you seen the movie, The Holiday? I have seen it a lot.
That sweater , Amanda is wearing when she is making faces at the dog, stuffing her face in bed, and dancing around the living room makes me giddy.

I was watching it this fall, frantically flipping through one of my knitting books trying to write a pattern for it.
Then I found it. The Fireside Sweater pattern on
Ravelry.
This is a slow going project. It is teaching me how to be a patient knitter. Reading charts is not fun, but wearing this sweater will be.

OMG, I love that sweater! Thanks for sharing the pattern name and source...I'm going to look it up now. Can't wait to see your sweater.
Good luck!! I went and had a look on Ravelry, and it looks like it is going to be a mammoth task, it will be gorgeous when it's finished though. I LOVE your blog!!
That is going to be beautiful!
You are not going to believe this, but I've rented that movie 3 times because of that sweater. Oh, I cannot WAIT to see this on you! Aren't the knits in that movie gorgeous?! And that little cottage? Ah.....
Yes, this is a lovely sweater. Wanted to knit it for some time now, but forgot all about it. Once you get a hang of a chart it is much easier to follow it, for me anyway. I find it very challenging reading a written pattern. I definitely would love to see the end result. It will look so good on you.
I like to watch that movie to to watch the stuff in the background and clothes people wear. Good luck! I'm sure it will be great!

ok, now i need to head to blockbuster and rent that movie!
cable knitting just fascinates me (me, a total non-knitter). i'm sure the sweater will be beautiful!
I've swooned over that sweater for a long time (especially since that is my favorite movie!) I can't wait to see you with the finished product.
wow, that is amazingly ambitious. Can't wait to see when it is all finished! I'm sure you will finish it in record time! :)
Love the sweater and love the movie. I swear I watched it at least ten times this last Christmas.
I love that movie, too!
