Vintage Pillowcase Quilt
Vintage sheets and pillowcases are hard to find in my neck of the woods. I have checked every thrift store, flea market and antique shop near me. Nothing! Thank goodness for Etsy, blogging friends that will send you some, and a sister that lives in the big city and will shop for you.
I love this one, so simple, so springy. Made completely with vintage linens. It is for a friend who has a birthday coming up.

Beautiful! It makes me want to start another quilt. I need to be patient. :)
That is really pretty. our friend is lucky!!!
What a stunning quilt! Absolutely beautiful! It embodies Spring. Your friend is very lucky to be receiving it.
Take care,
Vickie
I'm in the middle of making my first quilt and have envied yours for a while now! This one again looks fab.. Can only hope mine turns out half as good as yours
That's amazing!! What a treasure for your friend.
It's beautiful! I especially love the square with the little, green flowers. :-)
So so pretty!
I love it! The colors, the vintageness of it-beauteous. Brimfield opens next month for the season...makes me yearn to be there perusing the tables!
That is THE perfect springtime quilt. Your friend is very lucky!
It is so wonderful. I love the green backing. It will be treasured. I know there is a presser foot made for binding close to the edge. I haven't the experience in using one. I am sure it is a great helper in stitching on binding in a pinch.
i too am always on the hunt! we have them around here, but they aren't always very pretty. it turned out beautiful - i love the simplicity!
So pretty! BTW - I have TONS of sheets - if you want some - email me your address and I'll drop them in the mail for you (I have 3 rubbermaid tubs FULL - and they have to start going). Very pretty.

I agree---I'm so glad for Etsy since I cannot find vintage sheets anywhere around here!

I can't believe how quickly you turn these beauties out. Really lovely.
I love vintage pillow cases too! They are so soft. I have found them at garage sales, but you are right, it's rare. What a wonderful way to use them. I'll bet that is ONE COZY quilt!
Katie-
I LOVE this quilt, especially the purple pansy square--so springy!! I was happy to be part of it by carrying the sheets around in my trunk! :)
MOM
Oh Katie, I love it! I have plans for one of these for my girls...one day :)
I love how clean and crisp your quilt looks. I can just picture it flapping on a clothesline with the sun shining through it while totally absorbing that fresh outside aroma. Very, very pretty!

Just plain lovely.......says "Happy Spring" with every thread!!
What a beautiful quilt!!, but then every quilt you have made is beautiful!! I will keep my eye open for vintage sheets I am always going to thrift stres and yard sales sre slowly starting.
So lovely! I bet your friend will love it. I love it!
I have a shelf full of vintage sheets and pillow cases. I have wanted to make a quilt with them because they would make the most comfy and soft quilt. But, alas, I am not a quilter and I am scared to give it a go. Maybe one of these days I'll buck up and try it. With inspiration like you, how can I keep putting it off?
I may need knitting pattern reading help. Ugh. I'm such a rookie. And all your stuff is so fab. I think, Will I ever be of Philigry's caliber?
I LOVE this quilt - the colors, the charming vintage prints, and the simplicity of the simple squares. Your friend is going to be thrilled with her gift.

Where do you find such great vintage linens? Thriftshops? Garage sales? Probably a no-brainer. But our Goodwill never has cool stuff like this. Maybe I need to raid old ladies' closets....
So fresh and pretty! - Love it!
