Amanda's wardrobe

I know I have talked about her this a bit before. You know, Amanda from the movie, The Holiday? Well, I want her wardrobe.
The cable sweater is coming along really slow though. I am almost done with one side. I really have to be in the mood to work on this one. I need complete silence which does not happen very often in this house.

There is another sweater she is wearing in the film that I love. If you scroll down on this page you can see it. It is the third one down. After searching for a picture on the internet to go by, I was pleased to find out I am not the only one that loves all the clothes she wears.
It is just a simple white turtleneck sweater with buttons on the sleeves. I decided to give it a go and make my own. Almost done!

I am kind of making it up as I go. I thought about writing up a pattern to share, but in the end I used the same stitch counts that I used for my Rusted Root because I like the fit of that one so much.
I will have finished pictures next week, with more details. Just trying to decide on black or brown buttons for the sleeves....

Your sweater knitting totally fascinates me. The winter white is such a lovely color. I think it will make you look classy and very elegant.

You're so awesome at knitting. I tried it for a day, ok a few days and I didn't have the patience. I am pretty patient but my 3 year old would come undo what I had done and I did NOT have patience for that. I love the almost done sweater. Black or brown buttons would both look awesome.

I love that cable!

Lovely... both of them! I am glad that I am not the only one who needs silence to count and follow a pattern. That may be why knitting is pretty limited around here. Can't wait to see you modeling these two lovelies!

Oh! The cable sweater is divine! I loved the movie as well as the clothes. Jack Black never did anything for me until The Holiday. Can't wait to see the FO's.

I am always jealous of your knitting skills, as you always manage to knit the kind of things that I want to wear myself.

Maybe it's time to take the plunge and attempt something for me.

Oooh, so pretty!!! I LOVE the turtleneck. That would be so great for this fall and winter...uh oh, as if I need to buy more yarn!

Oh I love both of these! But that cable looks and sounds so hard - hope you get lots of quiet time to work on it. That turtleneck is going to be great - my vote would be the brown buttons....
