Ralphie's Hat

Have you seen the movie, A Christmas Story? Addison is going through this stage where he wants to be just like Ralphie.
He told me the other day he wanted a hat, with ear flaps, like Ralphie's. Only he wanted it to be blue and red. Stripes. A pom-pom. The ear flaps must be blue.

The cold and rainy days are out numbering the warm ones here in Maine. As soon as it dips below 60 degrees he puts it on. It is almost the middle of July, and my kids are wearing knit hats. Come on summer!

The Details:
Pattern: Kim's Hats from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, ear flap version.
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cotton, about two balls.
I am so happy "Ralphie" is enjoying his new hat. Even happier he hasn't asked for a BB gun. I am sure it is coming though.

Coolest hat ever. From a movie that is one of my total faves ever! Sad that summer hasn't reached you completely. Our last little heat wave did wonders for me............

What a cute hat! At least, he didn't ask for the fish-net stockings lamp...:-)

I don't think you really need to worry until his tongue sticks to the flagpole in August!

Very cool hat!
It's nippy here for July too - summer just hasn't started really this year.

Totally adorable! So fun the pretend play. Everything here is narnia....lots of running through closets to come out in a special world. There was also a request for a knitted up fur coat like they wear in the movie :)

Super cute hat! It's still winter here in MA, so I feel your pain. If he asks for the bb gun, tell him- you'll shoot your eye out kid! ;-0 Hope it warms up soon, before it really IS winter again.
