Anna's Room

I can not tell you how many times I have changed this room around. It never feels right. I think I got it this time. With Anna's help, of course. She saw a picture in a magazine of a room with a net over the bed. She loved it.
When I saw this white net at a second hand store, I had to snag it. It was only seven dollars!

I also saw this bassinet painted the perfect shade of ivory for nine dollars. It holds some of the quilts and toys I have made her.

I made her a new linen pillow with a ruffle. I love this pillow. You can buy the ruffle by the yard at Joann's. So much easier than trying to do it myself.

She has a big wall that was blank. I was shopping for the perfect mirror, but decided she would enjoy a chalkboard a lot more. We painted a square on her wall, and put some trim around it.

I saw this great idea for an old drawer here. I had drawers left over from the dresser I put in our bathroom. I hung on to them and I am so glad I did. We painted them Tea Rose by Ralph Lauren (the same color that is on her walls) and added trim and wheels to the bottom.

Now, she has a place to store some more of her toys. I just love this idea. I think I may make more to store some fabric or yarn under our bed.
Here are some more pictures....

Have a great day!

What a lovely room. And the drawers under the bed are a great idea. I have some of those ugly under the bed plastic things -- must replace them with pretty drawers!

That is the sweetest, most dreamy young girls' room I have ever seen - I cannot tell you how much I would have adored a room like that as a little girl. I simply love eveything about it. In particular, the white bassinet at the foot of the bed, the cradle by her very own chair, and of course, the ingenious drawer for under the bed. Everything just perfect! Her own private bower - you are a wonderful mom!!

That is one of the sweetest little girl's rooms I have seen! I love the drawer under bed storage idea! I am dying for the day when I can put my little Addison in her own room and make is girly. She has shared with her brother since she was born...one day! Thanks for the inspiration!

I think interior design magazines document the interior of homes, furniture, home accessories, textiles and architecture usually in a highly stylized or staged format
