I love this pattern. Not only is it free, it is quick, easy, and you can make changes to the pattern that will totally change the look of it.
Pattern: Francis
Yarn: Cascade Eco wool, in gray-brown, less than 2 skeins.
Mods: I did extra increases at the hip because I wanted it a little longer. 2x2 rib instead of seed stitch, and I knit the collar straight with no increases.
Things are going to be really knitty here for a while. I hope you don't mind. I have lots to show!

Your Francis looks so very great on you! I just finished this too and made the exact same mods - just with long sleeves. I can't wait to see all that you have to show - bring it on!
I just saw Larissa's, and now yours - I take this as a sign that I MUST make this!! It looks great! I can't wait to see all your knitty projects :)
Love it! I'm working on a long-sleeved version, also w/ ribbing and with a straight turtle- rather than cowl neck. Inspiring! Stefani
I look forward to you getting knitty with it. i love Francis. Have to go check that pattern out. i am some cascade eco wool sitting around.
And I know I always say this, too, but I think I'll make that.
I can already see the outfit I'd wear it with.
Great car work!
Yeah, that's an awesome pattern. I love your short-sleeved version!

It looks really great. You make me want to be a quicker knitter...
Your sweaters are always so pretty on you!
You've left me wanting to make another Francis...and I just made one about three weeks ago! Maybe with long sleeves, and the ribbing, and the straight neck...
I can't wait to see your next project--or maybe I can, seeing as how my "want to make" list just grew.
Totally cute--can't wait to see all that you have to show!
I like it a lot! Looks great and looks like it would be a great sweater for spring as well as fall/winter.
I love this!!! I like the modifications that you did to it. I think this may be my first sweater attempt. (even though just the thought of knitting a sweater gives me the shakes.)
Another fab knit!! Of course we don't mind you showing us lots more knitty items!!! Can't wait in fact x
looks awesome! and us be disappointed about knit sharing?? NO WAY!
OOh, I really like the look of that. Nice job! Also dig the boots.
Oh, my, YES, if I were you I would knit several colors too, because your sweater looks totally fabulous on you.
Oh I love it. Now I have another project I want to tackle...I have to tell you while reading your blog entry my son walked by and said wow Mom I haven't seen you wear that sweater yet and who took your pic?(he's my photographer and takes it very seriously) I laughed and said that's not me. At first he didn't believe me. I just picked a pattern out called the 3 hour sweater on the Anthropolige group over at ravelry. They have some great vintage patterns listed for this month. Worth checking out.
Can't wait to see all your projects! That sweater is amazing!
Francis looks great on you. It really reminds me of Ingenue from Custom Knits.
