I have been wanting to knit something for Anna for quite sometime now. One night we went on Ravelry together, and I tried to talk her into a few sweaters I was in love with. She did not like any of them. Not one.
Then we saw this one. The paperdoll sweater. I tried to contain my excitement and not say anything, hoping she would see it and think she had picked it out.
Well, it worked. She fell in love with the "dolly sweater."
It is a tad big for her because the smallest size is a six, and she is a four. A very tiny, skinny four. I don't mind though, that just means she will be able to wear it for two or three years instead of one.
I had the lovely green and brown yarn in my stash. Renee sent it to me a while ago and I had every intention of making a pair of socks, but I had to have it for this sweater instead. Had to.
We went to the yarn store and she picked out the pink for the dolls. It was so much fun.
Pattern: Paperdolls, by Katie Davis
Yarn: One ball of socken wolle in green, one ball of cascade heritage in hot pink, one ball of knitpicks gloss in brown.
No mods, this pattern is written beautifully. It was so much fun to see it come together. It is seamless, and comes in adult sizes too!

Oh, it is perfectly adorable on her. And so much better since she chose the pattern herself.

What a fabulous sweater! She looks absolutely adorable in it.
(if I knew how to knit, I'd make one in my size!!)
That is a wonderful design and pattern. I think it is darling. I am sure she will treasure it for a long time.
Absolutely adorable. And thanks for the heads up with the boots. Btw, I just realized it is your recipe for the fudge pudding cake I used a little while back.
The family went CRAZY for it. Thanks ;)

So sweet! She is adorable in it. The sweater is beautiful. Have you seen the owl sweater? I have that one on my list to knit for one of my girls!
Wow! Well done!
Yep. Most adorable thing I've seen knitted in a while.
Excellent work and, Anna - you're the cutest!
It's wonderful!!! I wish I knew a little girl 'cause I'd start that sweater tomorrow.
And when did A. get so big? (Well, you know, big for such a petite little thing.)
Adorable!
I don't know if Anna was made for this sweater or the other way around, but it is very stylish! I love it!
Absolutely stunning. Your daughter looks just adorable in this. You really are a knitting machine!!

It's beautiful!
I wish I could persuade my daughter to wear one, but see is not very fond of handknits :(
Her smile really tells how much she loves this sweater---it turned out great!!
So sweet! I love that you did all that together! Have you tried to teach her to knit at all yet? I still cast on for my baby (18) but she merrily knits away on a scarf after that. Ü
She looks older than 4, she must be almost 5. What a doll. Thanks so much for sharing. It warmed my heart.
Great job! What a beautiful sweater. I'm trying to learn to knit... maybe one day I can try that pattern, too!
So cute. I am back to learning how to knit. I hope to be able to make one of those for my daughter. Have you ever blogged about how you learned to knit, books, etc.?
Those photos of our Anna are awesome and it was so great to see her in the sweater in person! Perhaps she has a modeling career ahead? I can see her in the pages of the Halcyon catalog now!
