Flowers or Puff Ball Monster Heads?

I have been neglecting my knitting needles.
I can not stop making these tissue paper flowers. After seeing these at Dreamy Whites, I knew I had to make some for Anna's room.

She had the perfect corner, above her rocking chair. Pretty magical, don't you think? They are super easy, and cheap. I bet you already have everything you need. You can see how to make them here.

Addison was pretty taken with them. He wanted some for his room too. I try to be careful with what I say to the kids as far as things they like. If my son wants flowers in his room, that is fine with me.
Anna told him that they were flowers, and he could NOT have them in his room.

He snapped right back and informed her they were NOT flowers. They were puff ball monster heads. You know, like those guys on Sesame Street.
I picked up some red and blue tissue paper today. I want to surprise him when he gets home from school.
I hope he likes them.

Oh, by the way, if you are ever a guest in our house, Addison's bedroom is also our guest room. This will be the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning......

Hope you don't mind.

They look like red and blue puff monster to me, too! When they're white, they look like beautiful flowers. What a great decor idea. Thanks for sharing. :-)

I LOVE those! I made some for a bridal shower last summer (of course, I bought the kit at Michael's and am now smacking myself) and they added the perfect amount of whimsy.

I saw these on Flickr and came right over. I may stop at Walmart on my way home and make a bunch. Are they too childish for tweens and teens?

Those pink walls are perfectly blushed.

He is going to be psyched when he sees them! I love how you surprise your kids with things you've made -- I do the same and my daughter loves it.

How adorable that she saw flowers and he saw monsters. Very cute.

Those are just adorable, when I was a kid (back in the dark ages) we use to make flowers like that with a tissue, folded in half with a bobby pin, that way you could wear the fluffy flower in your hair! Every thing comes back but I love the use you made of it for the bedrooms. Hummmm, I may have to make some lime green and bright blue ones for my 11 month old grandson. The monsters have escaped!!

I made a bazillion of those for my wedding. Actually, my bridesmaids helped me. They are pretty, but after the 50th one they are a pain!
