Junk

It is Friday. I love Friday.
This weekend I want to eat cake. Carrot Cake. Just me and a fork. I don't want to share.

Can you tell I already got a head start? I have been craving sweets like crazy all week, and sometimes you just have to give in.
I get some comments about all the junk I eat. To be honest though, I really only blog about the junk. Not the healthy stuff. The junk is so much more fun.
I really don't eat it all the time. Sometimes. There is not any type of food that I could give up. Not cheese, not sugar, not carbs, butter, or dairy. I love meat, especially the red stuff. Rare please.
I admire people who do give up certain things, but I never will.
I just don't want to.

I also exercise. I have since I was 14. Not everyday, not for very long but I do it.
I love it. It makes me feel great. It lets me eat sugar and cheese, meat and dairy, so I do it. I will always do it.

This cake is so darn good.
No recipe to share, just a mix from a box, frosting from the can.
Frosting that almost did not make it on this cake.

Those weekend plans sound divine! I made a chocolate layer cake last weekend and was tempted to do the same :)

Love your honesty! It's like a breath of fresh air. I have been craving sweets all week, too.

I could eat just breads all day long. And we all know where those would end up:) The cake looks so yummy - I would not share either. Have a great weekend

I'm with you . . . I'd much rather exercise and eat what I want than deprive myself of the good stuff!

I don't even think carrot cake counts as junk. I mean, those ARE carrots in there, no?

And, like the old Bill Cosby stand-up act says, "eggs! Eggs are in chocolate cake! And milk! Oh goody! And wheat! That's nutrition!" - so you don't even have to feel guilty.

Unless, of course, that makes it more delicious, which is fine.

Love your attitude and I would love to have a very large slice of that carrot cake, but since you said you're not sharing.......

Ah, my thoughts exactly. I'd rather exercise all the time and eat what I want, than starve myself. If I get run over by a bus, I don't want my last thoughts to be 'I wish I had had that chocolate bar after all'.

trade you some bread and butter for cake??

I've been craving sweets all week too--I rarely make carrot cake since I do go to town with a fork. For some reason that doesn't apply to the cookies I make (it should, though!)

YUMMM. My mom has always said (well, since I left the house. She never let my brother or me do this!) that if you eat well and exercise during the week, on the weekend you can eat whatever you want (including an entire 5lb bag of M&M's in one sitting). And she's the most fit and healthy person I know. So dig in to that carrot cake and enjoy!!

that frosting looks so good!!!! i was so transfixed by the frosting it took me a minute to see how great the cake looks!
i share your philosophy about eating...everything (including exercise!!) in moderation is best. and who wants to read about us eating our yogurt and salads- the junk is more fun!
