Linen

I am constantly changing things around in my house. I love to decorate. I love the change.
I try to keep it inexpensive since I do it so much.
I thought I would go to the fabric store and get some Muslin to make new curtains.
Yes, muslin is perfect.
It is less than two dollars a yard, and comes in a few different shades.
Muslin is a great choice.

Then I saw the linen......
I never buy linen. Not the real linen anyway.
Sometimes doing the thing that you want to do, but never do is fun.

I'm not even sorry.

okay, i love linen with a passion. i love new curtains. i need new curtains. i've made a couple of dresses, a blouse, pants, skirts, aprons, and bags, but i feel helpless and intimidated even thinking about making a pair of curtains. would it be really lame to ask for a simple how-to? perhaps i might not be the only reader who would love this...??? even if it is too totally lame, let me just say - love the glimpse of your new linen drapes!

Have you ever heard of http://www.graylinelinen.com/home/ ? They sell linen for $8/yard. I have bought the "Judy" linen for clothes and other projects. The only problem is figuring out the colors because they aren't named. [You can call their customer service and they will help you, but order online because then it's free shipping. And, if I remember correctly (it's been awhile), they ship FedEx or something really fast.]

I don't blame you! They will last forever and you can then use them for lots of other things. Lovely choice, it's what I used in my bedroom for years.

Linen was a great choice. Your curtain catches the light beautifully.

No wonder, it looks perfect.

Yep, I just went a little nuts (for me) in a new fabric store. I'm getting the odd twinge of guilt, but not as bad as I expected I would. I'm thinking of taking myself back there for my birthday...

Your curtains look great. I made some linen/cotton curtains and they really hold up well. Try hitting Joann's up in mid-summer when they start marking their linen down to 70%. I always clean up on that.

I love linen! I never really use it though, but the thought of it gets me all excited :) I'd love a few beautiful linen pillows for my couch...
