I went to college in Vermont, and there was the best bagel place near Killington that I would always stop at on my way home. I don't even remember the name, but they had every kind of bagel that you could think of. They tasted nothing like the bagels you buy in the grocery store, they were boiled or steamed and it made all the difference.
With just four ingredients, you can make your own too.
I also use King Arthur white-whole wheat flour instead of white flour, and they are so good.
I know mine do not look like bagels. I don't like to take the time to make the hole in the center. The faster I can make them the better.
They do not last long.

I guarantee if you try these, you will never buy bagels in the grocery store ever again!

This weekend it will be me and this recipe in the kitchen!! I'm so glad you are back in this space--it is a joy to read your words!
Those bagels sound so yummy. Everything is better when it is homemade. Happy New Year!

Yummy, I love bagels and so do my kids! We will be trying these soon!!!
Oh my goodness, THANK YOU for linking this recipe! I am so going to try these this weekend. There are some things that just taste so much better when homemade...earlier this year I realized that homemade soft pretzels are not only *possible* to make, but also INCREDIBLY delicious. I bet it will be the same with these bagels!
Thanks for sharing I have been wanting to make bagels for awhile and I also like to use whole wheat flour, yay!
