Bare

I love the look of bare windows.
All of our bathrooms have windows that face the back of our house.
Nothing but trees to look at.
I have tried to hang curtains there, but I just hate how they block so much of the natural light. Even small roll-up shades hide enough light to make me rip them down a few days later.

I do like dressing them up a bit with fabric banners.
The above picture is one I made for our master bath, using twine and linen. I just glued the fabric to the twine.

Here is a tiny one I made for the kids bathroom window using white linen scraps.
I have something else to show today.....

I painted the buffet.

Thank you so much for all of your opinions.
I really could not decided what to do.
We already had the black paint, so I just went for it.
You know me though, I am sure it will be another color-by next Tuesday.

It looks beautiful and balances the color in the room. I have a hard time hanging window treatments as well. Although, I'm realizing that room by room, I have begun to add them.

Sometimes I feel bad about the bare windows. But there is really no solution in some cases where you want to see the view and let in the light. So thanks for giving me peace about my bare uncomplicated windows. Let the moulding do the talking. Although, I'm inspired to do the banner thing over the boys room windows. Thanks.
Beautiful as always.

I love the buffet black! It looks great. I also love the windows without treatments, but we don't live in a very private area, so I can't have bare windows. I do have bare windows in my kitchen, but that's only because I cannot decide what to do with them!

I love the pennant over the window! I grew up in a heavily wooded area, so I feel the same way about my windows. Well except the fact that now I have neighbors, teenage ones at that! Window coverings aside, I wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and tell you how much I love yours!
p.s. My book page "dictionfairy" gettup was my Halloween costume. kind of a book page wreath taken to a silly extreme!~ Merrilee
