Since November

So last November I decided  I wanted a mindless knitting project. A very simple striped blanket came to mind and I started it and worked on it for a few months.

Then I became obsessed with hexagons and decided the stripes had to go.  I frogged the stripes, and started the hexagons.
I love knitting these things.  You can bring the project along with you and work on one hexagon at a time and seam them together whenever you want.  I like to get a few and sew them up as I go.
I am not done, as you can see but I am hoping by this November I will finish!
I have included a very easy tutorial below if you want to make a blanket or pillow of your own.

Hexi tutorial: I used worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles.  I think chunky yarn would also be fab!

Cast on 20 stitches
Row 1: knit all stitches
Row 2: purl all stitches
Row 3: Add two stitches to this row by knitting in the front and back of the first stitch and the last stitch-22 stitches
Repeat row 2 and 3 until you reach 40 stitches
Next knit row decrease two stitches by knitting the first two and last two stitches together.
Repeat purling on back side and decreasing two stitches on the knit side until you have 20 stitches again.
Bind off on right (knit) side
Leave a long piece of yarn to make seaming easier.
Happy knitting!
